My name is Christy Crotwell. Ever since I can remember I have always been fascinated with the law. Watching shows with my grandmother such as Perry Mason, In the Heat of the Night, and the very early years of Law and Order introduced me to the power of the law. While these shows present fictitious situations, they spurred my imagination. I was drawn to the legal world! And, I made it happen! I graduated from the University of New Orleans with a BA in Political Science with a pre-law concentration and a minor in Paralegal Studies making me a Certified Paralegal in 2006 and again when I passed the Social Security Representative exam in 2019.

I love the work that I do as a paralegal and a Social Security Representative– whether it is helping clients figure out solutions to their problems, researching interesting concepts, learning about the significant medical issues our clients face, winning disability benefits for our clients, or just being there to listen. My work is truly rewarding and everything I imagined it being.

I have known and worked with Loyd since 2006. Joining my friend and former co-worker, Loyd Bourgeois in his practice was the best professional decision I have ever made. I assist with all aspects of his practice from working directly with clients to understand their situations to dealing with the Social Security Administration, insurance adjusters, and courts. I know together that we will accomplish great success for our clients!

Outside of my work, I have been married for over 20 years to my high school sweetheart, Ronnie, and we have two beautiful children, Ronin and Emilie. We live in Luling and love our tight-knit community. I enjoy sewing, baking, cooking, DIY projects, and just spending quality time with my family and friends. I lead my daughter’s Girl Scout Senior Troop and have served numerous positions for the St. Charles Parish Girl Scout Community Unit Board, including registrar, Community Publicity Representative, and Summer Day Camp Coordinator, to name a few. I started and coached the initial First Lego League program for Girl Scouts in our community, which is a program designed to help our children research and develop solutions to real-world problems such as food safety, recycling, energy efficiency, etc. using Lego Mindstorm robotic technology. St. Charles Parish Girl Scouts now have 3 First Lego League teams modeled and built off our success. In addition, 4 members of my original Lego team have gone on to be on their High School Robotics teams. My volunteering within the Girl Scout Community Unit over the last 12 years has been very spiritually fulfilling.

My son graduated from Hahnville High School in 2018 and is currently working as an auto mechanic, his true calling since he was about 2 years old. I am very proud of his growth as a young man, his strong will, his kind heart, and his desire to “save” people. My daughter, Emilie, graduated Hahnville High School in May 2024. She attends UNO. She currently has her mind set on going to medical school, but has also joined us as a legal assistant here at LJBLegal. I am proud of her kind heart, personal strength, individuality, and independence. I can’t wait to watch her take on the world.
