About
Hey! My name is Lubaya but feel free to call me Lu, everyone does. I have a law degree in South Africa and also spent some time teaching English online as a second language to students from all over the world.
I’ve always found the law fascinating, which is what led me to study it in the first place. But beyond the legal side of things, what really drew me in was the opportunity to help people through difficult situations. Despite some of the stereotypes around lawyers, I’ve always believed that at the heart of legal work is helping people navigate some of the most stressful and overwhelming moments in their lives.
After spending some time in the legal field, I later had the opportunity to teach English online, where I discovered how much I genuinely enjoy communication, connection, and working with people from all walks of life. I especially loved the conversations and building relationships with clients from different backgrounds.
For me, case management feels like the perfect combination of both worlds — blending my passion for law with the communication and people skills I developed through teaching. I believe that patience, compassion, and going the extra mile can make a real difference for someone going through a challenging time, and that’s something I strive to bring into my work every day.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team at LJB Legal. I truly admire what the firm stands for and represents, and I’m excited to contribute positively to the meaningful work being done.
Outside of work, I’m slightly obsessed with the color purple, love spending time with my husband and son, enjoy cooking, and have recently started exploring sewing and learning how to make my own clothes.
