Highway 90 has a deserved reputation as one of the most dangerous highways in America. On a late-July morning, just how dangerous came to life for our client. She was riding her gas powered scooter on the shoulder in the correct direction as she was attempting to traverse from a local gas station back to her home. An inattentive pickup truck driver was trying to turn into a local carwash and did not even notice her on the shoulder.The collision resulted in our client under the pickup truck, the scooter busted and broken, and our client unconscious and with significant injuries.The injuries were so severe she was ultimately airlifted from the scene to University Medical Center in New Orleans for treatment. She spent over 45 days in the hospital for treatment of numerous broken bones, internal injuries, and swelling. She faces a lifetime of pain and discomfort, along with untold additional future procedures.
