Pre-Litigation Attorney
Location: Luling, Louisiana (Greater New Orleans Area)
Salary: $90,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on experience
Work Location: In-person
What You Will Do
You will take ownership of pre-litigation personal injury cases and help move them from intake through settlement.
But this is not a position where you will be expected to do everything yourself.
You will work with an experienced team of case managers and support staff who help keep cases moving, gather records and bills, communicate with clients, resolve liens, and prepare cases for resolution. Your job is to provide the legal judgment, strategy, oversight, and negotiation necessary to get the best possible result for our clients.
You will evaluate liability, damages, insurance coverage, medical treatment, and case value. You will review demand packages, negotiate with insurance companies, counsel clients about settlement offers, and identify cases that need to move into litigation.
Most importantly, you will make sure our clients feel like they have an attorney who knows their case, understands what they are going through, and is looking out for them.
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for an attorney who knows personal injury, understands how to evaluate a case, and can make good decisions without needing someone looking over their shoulder all day.
You must be licensed to practice law in Louisiana and in good standing.
You must have personal injury experience.
You must be comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of cases.
You must be good with clients.
You must not be a jerk.
You must want to grow with a firm and team that is growing.
The following are important to succeeding in this role:
- At least 2 years of personal injury experience, preferably involving pre-litigation matters
- Strong understanding of liability, damages, medical records, insurance coverage, UM coverage, and the personal injury settlement process
- Ability to evaluate case value and develop a strategy for moving a case toward resolution
- Excellent persuasive writing and negotiation skills
- Strong client communication and relationship-building skills
- Extraordinary attention to detail and follow-through
- Ability to prioritize multiple cases and competing deadlines
- Solutions-oriented and results-focused mindset
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential and privileged information
- Comfort working in a technology-driven, paperless environment
You are organized, responsive, and accountable. You do not wait for someone else to notice a problem. You identify it, determine the next step, and get it moving.
You understand that moving cases quickly does not mean rushing them. It means knowing what needs to happen next, making sure it happens, and not allowing good cases to sit unnecessarily.
You also understand that behind every file is a real person who may be hurt, out of work, worried about money, frustrated with an insurance company, or simply unsure about what happens next. How we communicate with that person matters just as much as how we handle the legal work.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
- Manage and oversee pre-litigation personal injury cases from intake through settlement
- Work closely with case managers, attorneys, and support staff to keep cases moving
- Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice throughout the claim
- Evaluate liability, damages, medical treatment, insurance coverage, and case value
- Review police reports, medical records, witness statements, insurance policies, UM coverage, and other evidence
- Develop case strategy and identify issues that could affect liability or recovery
- Review and approve demand packages and supporting documentation
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies
- Communicate settlement offers, recommendations, risks, and legal options to clients
- Oversee settlement finalization, lien resolution, settlement documentation, and disbursement preparation with support from our team
- Identify cases that should proceed to litigation and coordinate a smooth transition to our litigation team
- Maintain accurate deadlines, case records, notes, and communications in our case management systems
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal standards, ethical requirements, and firm policies
Who Are We and Why Work Here?

Our team is strategic, systems-driven, and constantly looking for ways to improve. We use technology to make our work better and more efficient, but we do not lose the human side of practicing law in the process.

We have ambitious plans for the future and are looking for people who want to help build something, not simply fill a seat.
We also believe you should be able to build a successful legal career and have a life outside the office. We are parents, spouses, coaches, volunteers, sports fans, and members of our community too. We understand that balance matters.
